CURRICULUM OVERVIEW
Foundation Phase (R–3): The formative years of a child are crucial for unlocking their potential and laying a strong foundation for the future, and Grade R marks an essential step into formal education. At Hilton Academy, we recognise the significance of these early years and continually enhance our Grade R infrastructure to nurture creativity and promote exploration through rich learning and sporting opportunities.
Core subjects offered in grade R are:

The primary school comprises:
The Foundation Phase comprises Grades 1 to 3, the Intermediate Phase covers Grades 4 to 6, and the Senior Phase includes Grade 7. The terminal grades of 3, 6, and 7 sit Provincial Exams that determine their competence before exiting, and our learners perform meticulously every year. Our well-designed curriculum for Primary School aims to address the individuality of students and bring out the best in them. Integrating Spelling Bees, quizzes, debates, sports, and extracurricular activities creates a fun learning environment. Evaluation through periodic tests and feedback on students’ performance also helps them understand their progress at school and identify areas where they need to improve.

HIGH SCHOOL
High school comprises grades 8 to 12. Grades 8 and 9 are part of the Senior Phase, which starts in grade 7. The Further Education and Training (FET) Phase includes grades 10 to 12, preparing students for further education at universities and colleges.
Our high-quality lessons, delivered daily, ensure that your child is well-prepared to excel both individually and academically during this period, laying the core foundations for their future. Grade 9 students write both national and provincial exams through the General Education Certificate (GEC) project, administered by the DBE. Grade 12 is assessed through the DBE’s Umalusi-accredited National Exams.
